Rule #380 : NEVER "madrasi" A PROUD CHENNAI VAASI.

What's more annoying than being called a "madrasi". No, we're proud Chennai vaasi.

Every thing, be it small or big, makes Chennai HOME for everyone. Every street, every area, every landmark. From the sand grains on marina, the shops along Bessie, the sundals, the auto annas, the big pottu-big nose aunty, prasadham in every kovil, the slanted and crowded buses, koyambedu poo-kaara akka, the rottt-u kadai akka, the 5am show visil satham, the paal abhishegam for big cutouts, thalavair dharisanam, thala-thalapathy combo, the rose milk, the podi dosa, the kushboo idly, sathyam popcorn, casino theatre, the thanni lorry sandai, the Moore market books, mylapore golu line-up, I could go on and on. But you know it better than I do.

To simplify, Chennai = paasam.

Be it auto annas or road kadai akkas, you could talk and listen to their stories like you know them for ages. Even if you want to cross the road, the akkas crossing with you will help you, saying she was scared to cross it too.
